About
We keep tank containers moving
Since 1996, DEPOT Software has built one thing: software that runs a tank container yard. Today our system is in use at more than 200 depots in 15 countries, from the Port of Rotterdam and Antwerp to Duisburg and Houston.
We are not a generic logistics platform that happens to handle tanks. Everything we build starts on the yard with the people who clean, heat, repair, store and hand over containers every day.
Our story
It started with one depot near Rotterdam
In 1996 a depot in Heinenoord asked for software that matched the way they actually worked. That first customer is still a customer today. Almost thirty years later, that says more about how we work than any brochure could.
From custom-built to configurable
For years we built to order. Every depot got its own version. It worked, but it did not scale and it kept good ideas locked inside one customer.
So we turned it around. One standard product, configured per depot. What one customer improves, every customer benefits from. That shift is why a system built for a single yard near Rotterdam now runs depots across Europe and the United States.
Built with the industry, not for it
Our roadmap comes from the yard. Through the DEPOT Community, end users, operational managers and decision-makers sit at the same table and tell us what is missing. We call it co-creation because that is what it is: 25+ years of building alongside industry leaders rather than guessing at what they need.

Our vision
A tank container industry where every party in the chain depot, operator, cleaning station, surveyor, customer works from the same information. Fewer phone calls, fewer spreadsheets, fewer surprises. One container, one truth.
How we work

**Standard where possible, configurable where it counts.** You get proven software, set up for your operation.
**For the long term.** Our first customer is still with us. That is the timescale we plan on.

DEPOT Software
The modular system for the full tank container yard. DEPOT Foundation delivers the digital backbone CRM, invoicing, API integration. On top of that sit the modules for your services: container flow and dangerous goods compliance, cleaning, maintenance and repair, and heating. You run the services you offer, and nothing you don't.
SYNDA
The data layer between companies. SYNDA connects depots, operators and their partners so orders, statuses and documents move automatically instead of by email. Built on Microsoft Azure, and built specifically for the tank container industry.
Part of Merit Holding
DEPOT Software is part of Merit Holding, a group of software companies that invests for the long term. Merit does not buy to resell; it backs the companies it owns so they can keep building. For us that means more capacity to develop DEPOT Software, Depot Go and SYNDA, and colleagues across the group to share knowledge with.
